Hi all, Can anyone tell me about the information in the following publication of the Gloucester Co. Historical Society? "Petitions For Guardians From the Minutes of the Salem County NJ Orphans' Court." Compiled by H.Stanley Craig, pub by Gloucester County Historical Soc 1986 listing of ward's name, parent and date of petition for guardian, from terms 1802 through 1899 My gg-grandfather (I'm pretty sure it's him), Charles P. Walker, is listed in the book: Children: Walker, Charles P., Rebecca and James, parent James Walker. Term June 1836. Charles would have been 7 at the time. What does this mean? In 1850, Charles shows up in Woolrich Twp, Gloucester Co. in the household of Benjamin Black, a farmer. Anyone know of this Black family? Where is Woolrich Twp.? Four years later, Charles (1854) married Charity Davis. In 1861, they were in Paulsberg (Paulsboro?) Is this in Woolrich Twp.? Thanks in advance for any information.. Lynn Dennis (who just saw in the newspaper out here in Illinois, that her high school was among the top ten most challenging high schools in the country! Go Mainland Regional! Sorry, I couldn't help myself...)
