I am far from an authority on it but I've noticed in my research that there almost seems to be line of migration in New Jersey, especially with my Quaker ancestors. One of my earliest ancestors started out in Shrewsbury, which is in North Jersey but then the family headed straight to Burlington Co. Many more ancestors gathered there, then seemed to make a path : Haddonfield, Deptford, Greenwich TWSP-Gloucester Co-(Paulsboro, Mickleton, National Park), and Mullica Hill. I am not up on town or township names at that time but there then seems to have been a string along the Delaware River. I have many scattered names in places like Daretown and Greenwich near Bridgeton. As an aside, I had a great aunt with the middle name of Middleton and we aren't quite sure how she got it.
