    1. [NJGLOUCE] Scott/Shepard
    2. Hello list I am new to this list and I have several pieces to a puzzle that doesn't want to be solved. My Scott line is George Thomas Scott 1852-1923 but I don't know where he was born. I have found in a family bible (ony a coule pieces of it were left) that George had a brother named John born about 1858--don't know where. I have since found pictures of Mary Scott (Peters) and Julia Scott (Shepard). The pictures state they are sister's of George Scott. I have found in formation on Winfield Scott in McHenry County, Illinois that look like he is part of this family. Winfield married Dora Goodrich. The Winfield name is also in two other generations that I can place in my family. George also married Melvina andrews in McHenry County. George and Melvina settled in Granville, Putnam County, Illinois. They had six children and three survived infancy. Orville Winfield Scott 1876, Pruella Melvina Scott 1879 and Harvey George Scott 1886. George's obit states he has one surviving brother, John, living in Mark, Putnam County, Illinois. It also stated that he had family, Ora (I think it is Orville) and Harvey living in Owatonna, Minn. (year was 1923) George's death certificate doesn't state his parents. It actually didn't have his full name. It was filed under Scott. They located it with the date of death and wife's name. The picture of Mary Scott was taken in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There isn't a date. It shows a married name of Peters. Julia's picture states a married name of Shepard. I think the parents of these children are John Thomas Scott and Mary Huth. The 1900 census states George's parents were from England. Does any of this look familiar to anyone? Laurie Nevada
