Sorry, let me clarify my statement. As admin of the pa-census list I am well aware that viruses cannot come thru Rootweb lists. However, the virus messages do APPEAR to be coming from Rootsweb lists; my warning was aimed so that listmembers would not look at any message from a list to which they are not subscribed. These messages do NOT carry an attachment flag so the virus must be piggybacking on the actual message. An unwary person might look at a message from another list not pausing to think "hey, I don't belong to that one!" - in this last batch I have received 10, and the addresses that the posts APPEAR to be coming from are: pamonval-l-request@rootsweb.com pa-folklore-admin@rootsweb.com pennadutch-l-request@rootsweb.com pa-old-news-d-request@rootsweb.com pa-bio-d-request@rootsweb.com pa-railroads@rootsweb.com pa-data-request-l@rootsweb.com pa-data-admin@rootsweb.com so even if the messages AREN'T coming thru Rootsweb, they APPEAR to be. Since we all trust the posts that come thru Rootsweb, an unwary person would maybe not think twice about opening these messages. So my warning stands - be alert! Gail
