I am interested in Samuel Davis who made a will in Gloucester County mentioning his daughter Mary Osler. I am away from home and do not have the copy of the will with me but if it looks like the same family please get in touch with me. Charity and Charles were in Gloucester Co. in 1861 when my g-grandfather was born in Paulsboro, but I don't know if they were local or moved to Gloucester Co. from elsewhere. Samuel and Patience probably fall within your timeframe. Do any of these people sound familiar? Lynn

I see you are researching "Reeves" I have a Mary Reeves who wed David Homan, Sep 14, l786, in The Third Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia (Marr. l810, Vol 11, l785-l799) They had several children which I can give you if you think this is your line. David was my gg grandfather who came from Gloucester to Clermont County, Ohio in l814. Mary had no doubt died by then & he remarried but some of his & Mary's children came with him to Ohio. Hi Susan Don't worry about posting it to the web. With luck there could be another back porch or front porch out there. ha ha Anyway my Hester Porch would have been born about 1835. She would fit into the age group of Ralph and Maria. I would love whatever you could share. My e-mail server has had a lot of problems this weekend but they are fixing it and should have everything okay by midnight. Thank You Alice in NC . -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Sunday, June 13, 1999 10:06 PM Subject: [NJGLOUCE-L] for Alice looking for Hester Porch >Hi Alice, > >I found a Hester Porch from the South Jersey family...but no marriage info >etc on. > >I have her parents as Ralph Porch J 1797-1851 m to Maria A ??. ANDERSONVILLE PRISONER DATABASE LINK HAS CHANGED. If you have a relative that you know was a prisoner at Camp Sumter, Andersonville Prison, Georgia during the Civil War or think so, you can type their name in on this site and check it out. I found my Great Great Great Grand Uncle Alfred Breyer on this site. My relative, Alfred Breyer, was christened in London, England in 1830, married in Camden, New Jersey in 1850, and died in this prison in 1864. He only lived thirty-four years, a short life. The Macon County, Georgia, Chamber of Commerce has the National Park Service Database for Andersonville on its site. Just type in a name and see what you find. <http://oglethorpe.corinthian.net/mccc/aville.html> CORRECTED LINK PRISONER DATABASE IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE. You can search by either Name or by Unit. Sometimes it takes awhile to get through. Just keep trying though. Then you might be interested in Kevin Frye's excellent web page on the Internet. <http://www.angelfire.com/ga2/Andersonvilleprison/index.html> Kevin's email address is [email protected] I ordered the three photo set (one overall cemetery shot, one gravestone shot, and one closeup gravestone shot) from Kevin for my relative and was very pleased with the results. This is the Andersonville National Cemetery in Georgia. Carol Holt Middle Tennessee

I'm submitting some updated info on my ggrandfather in the hopes it will lead to more info about his parents names. I've recently spoken to a 90 yr. old relative who remembered some family middle names. He thinks all of the middle names of these Scudders were from relatives. Do these sound familiar to anyone out there? My Frank Scudder, b abt. 1855-60 was really named Francis Asbury Scudder (there was a Bishop Francis Asbury who brought Methodism to the Bridgeton area in late 1700s). The Scudders lived in Fairton, NJ, south of Bridgeton, but not sure where his parents started out. He married Augusta Stevens Eichele,b 1860, who spoke German. Their children were Anna Budd Scudder b.abt 1881,m. Rufus Davis of Bridgeton area; Lillian Stevens Scudder,b.1883.m.Charles French Lacy; and William Corson Scudder,b.1885 m.Clara Glass. They later lived in Camden, NJ and owned a cigar store. Supposedly, the Budd family had a lumber or millwork business that was aligned with some of the Scudders. Does this sound like a connection to anyone out there? Would love to hear from you. Joan in NJ
Susan, No, I haven't found any connection to the KAYE family from my BARNABY family. There aren't many BARNABY family members listed in anything I have found so far. I add to my library concerning New Jersey since I am researching from afar (Tennessee). Have you visited the Mormon Site on-line? Not everyone is aware of this site, but it is being publicized on Television on the morning news programs. <http://www.familysearch.org/> I went there and just typed the name FIRST NAME Alfred LAST NAME Kaye It brought up a bunch and then I looked through the results. No. 68 is Alfred Kaye Gloucester, NJ This is just some of what I found: Alfred KAYE Anna May (Newcomer) b. 22 Jul 1886 b. Looks like there is quite a bit of information there. It shows a submitter as someone in Riverton, Utah. Does not list any parents for Ethel May Barnaby. I was hoping for some information there on this line. Hope this helps you out and shows you a direction to go. Earl, I'm trying to find my ggrandfather, William French Lacy, called French Lacy, b. abt.1855-60, M. Sarah Mood abt. 1880. They lived in Camden, NJ for many years. He was an engineer for the PRR(Penna-Reading Railroad). Sarah's family was from Elk and Pole Tavern, south of Mullica Hill, NJ. There were Lacy's in Woodstown area and Alloway Creek, and Upper Pittsgrove. It appears that they might have been related many years ago but during the 1800s it seems they had similar forenames but not linked. I'm not certain where my Wm. Lacy was born or names of his parents, Possibly John Lacy. I have names of all William and Sarah's descendant's, as I am one of them. Do you have other Lacy names? Let me know, we might have a connection. Joan Lacy Fitzsimmons in NJ PS. My Lacy ancestors always said that their Lacy ancestors were Scotch-Irish (Scots displaced to County Ulster in NO. Ireland by Cromwell? Sorry, I don't have the facts at my fingertips right now!)

Hi all, I wonder if anyone has come across the Sise family or the Niepling family. The Sises were Catholics originally and moved to the Egg Harbor area in the 1820-30 range. My proven line begins with John there. His son Elva (Ellvey) was a Methodist minister. He became one late in life-about 40. Elva's daughter Mary Anne married into the Niepling family. They were glassmakers of Prussian descent according to family stories. Mary Ann's husband , Louis, was born in Camden/Gloucester County in 1836. Eventually Louis and Mary Ann followed the glass industry to NY. I've been trying this long distance (SW PA!) for several years. Not much progress as of yet! Thanks, Kim
