    3. This a repeat post but I was hoping some new listers might take a look. I need information from the Swedesboro area. David Fox b. abt 1750 d. abt 1778 in Salem Co., NJ. He married abt 1773 Margrete last name unknown but she was of Swedish descent. They were married only three or four years when David died. They had one son, John who was three when his father died. John b. 1775 d. 1846. Record of his birth is recorded at Raccoon and Penn's Neck Swedish Lutheran church. In 1781, Margrete married Martin Hawke/Hawk. He died in 1813 and she apparently died before that date. David was a farmer as shown by the inventory of his estate. The estate was appraised 30 Sept 1778 by Thomas Parker and Garret Vanneman. David's son, John, married Mary L. (called Polly) Veneman of the Swedesboro area. They had 10 children. Three were born in Gloucester Co. John and Mary moved to Illinois in 1818. I would like to find the family of David Fox especially any brothers he may have had. Any information on Fox or Vanneman/Veneman would be appreciated. Carol Indianapolis

Please let me introduce myself and my request. I am a historian of early America at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. My completed doctoral dissertation, of which I am currently revising for publication, focused on 18th century religion in Southern New Jersey (everything south of Burlington County). One of my chapters deals with a cadre of young Presbyterians during the immediate pre-Revolutionary era (1765-1776) who lived and socialized with friends and family associated with the three Presbyterians churches in the Cohansey area (Greenwich, Fairfield, Deerfield). Much of the documentary evidence that undergirds my chapter is based on the diaries and writings of Philip Vickers Fithian as well as the unpublished archival materials from his friends and acquaintances housed at the Firestone Library in Princeton. As part of this chapter, I am including an biographical appendix of all the members I could find who were part of the Presbyterian circles associated with Fithian, the Presbyterian Academy at Deerfield under the direction of Enoch Green, the Greenwich Tea Party, and the *Plain Dealer*, a newsletter written at Potter's Tavern in Bridgeton. I have been able to track down adequate biographical information from many of these men and women, but others have been more difficult. I am especially eager to get the birthdates and date of death for some of these people, but any additional biographical info or sources would also be helpful. Below I have listed some of the figures I have still not been able to track down and the information I would like to obtain about them. If anyone could be of help for any, some, or all of these, it would be GREATLY appreciated! Please feel free to pass this along to someone (perhaps someone without internet/e-mail access) who might be of help. Thanks. 2. SYMPTOMS: Continual complaint as to need for names, dates and places. Patient has blank expression, is sometimes deaf to spouse and children. Has no taste for work of any kind except feverishly looking through records at libraries and courthouses. Has compulsion to write letters/email. Swears at mailman when he does not leave mail.(I have stooped to swearing at my AOL mailbox) Frequents strange places such as cemetaries, ruins and remote, desolate areas. Makes secret phone calls at night. Hides phone bill from spouse and mumbles to self. Has strange, faraway look in the eye. NO KNOWN CURE !! TREATMENT: Medication is useless. Disease is not fatal but gets progressively worse. Patient should attend genealogy workshops, subscribe to genealogical magazines (email lists) and be given a quiet corner in the house where he or she can be alone. author unknown
