The probate and wills are available at the State archives in Trenton and on microfilm in a number of locations, including the LDS library at Salt Lake City. Abstracts of the wills are in large books available in Trenton and SLC. Ancestry.com has the records only up to 1760. I wish they would put up the rest. More information is available in "Orphans' Court" documents. If a father died, leaving underage children, they were technically "orphans" and provision had to be made to protect their inheritance.
