Betty from Louisiana: You are very smart to allocate several days for your ancestor research in NJ. I have researched my early Newark, NJ ancestors in all three of the places you mentioned, and have found value in each. The Historical Society in Newark is the hardest to access, but don't pass it up! I found wonderful information there including originals of family wills and other papers! Find out ahead of time when that facility is open. Its research library is not open every day. Lucy Russell Researching in Essex Co. NJ Browne, Burwell, Crane, Hedden, Huntington, Roberts, Sargent
