Just to save some people time and energy, I am posting the following, from the below listed web site, Regarding their free registration. FREE MEMBERSHIP Benifits; Access to our 3 free newspapers, Lime Springs Herald, IA Mountain Democrat, CA Scottsbluff Star Herald, NE Now there is a monthly fee of $12.95* and a $79.95 charge for the yearly membership. Notice the catch here with the * on the $12.95 fee, the small print reads; * This plan represents an annual commitment with payments in monthly installments. I have to say I was really disappointed. I registered for the free membership and even considered paying the $12.95 for one month, untill I found out that you can not sign up for just a month. and the only NJ paper was the Trenton Times. So unless you are looking for information from the above three sources be prepared to pay 79.95 a year. Also once you register you are no longer to do just a search and get snipettes. After I registered I keep getting sent back to the log on page to register and I had cookies enabled. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Brandstetter" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2004 12:37 AM Subject: [NJESSEX] searchable newspaper pages > > There is a free Sigh up and a :pay to see: "" > http://www.newspaperarchive.com/DesktopDefault.aspx > What made the news in the 1700's? I only went for the free registration.and when I do a search I get a lot of hits that MAY help in finding lost family .you only get a little info and date the paper it was in . now with a name like Brandstatter Brandstetter and Brandstadter I get lest hits then Davis Smith but I look for family that just did not talk to each other after the 1920. I have to find a Newspaper that had a list a court papers with my ggrandmothe side of the family I know it out there but at 10, [I was 10 the paper was from the 1920s ] I just do not remember were the court or paper was from. >>* This plan represents an annual commitment with payments in monthly installments<< I stay away for the paying for this info.
