Hi all! I need an act of genealogical kindness. I was wondering if there is anyone on this list who might be able to check out some records at Fairmount Cemetery. I was trying to see if their records have been filmed by the LDS, but can't seem to find them. Coincidentally, I can't find the records for Holy Sepulchre on their website either and I KNOW I've looked at them before If they've been filmed, can someone help me with film numbers? If not, I need some "on site" help with finding a family plot. It's really not in my budget right now to hire someone, so I'm appealing to your good nature for help. :-) Please contact me if you can help. I live in FL, so it's not something I can do easily from here. Thanks! Dru Beesley Palm Bay, FL
Nancy, I can't help with Fairmount Cemetery, but here is the listing for Holy Sepulchre Cemetery from the FHL catalog - under East Orange, not Newark. The Catholic records of the Archdiocese of Newark (including cemetery records) were allowed to be filmed by the Mormons. Fairmount is a non-sectarian cemetery. Title Cemetery records, 1859-1977 Authors Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (East Orange, New Jersey) (Main Author) St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (East Orange, New Jersey) (Added Author) Notes Microfilm of the originals at the cemetery. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Includes card index to burials. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- St. Mary's Cemetery is apparently part of the same cemetery.
