Hi Patti: I suspect that at the time women would be able to get their citizenship through their husband's... but it is intriguing about widows... I also thought that at some point (I forget what year it started at) women who wanted to become US citizens had to file for their intention separately from their spouse.. What about widows or elderly mothers? Anyone know? And couldn't a female renounce her former country, too, if she wished? I believe after 1922, women had to have their own naturalization and could not longer be naturalized through their husbands.
