Good news/ bad news re: Essex County Hospitals. Overbrook Hospital (formerly Branch Hospital?) still exists and is now called the Essex County Hospital Center. SOHO Hospital is no longer in operation and the building may have been sold. Requests for old patient records from either facility should be addressed to Essex County Dept. of Health and Rehabilitation Essex County Hospital Center 123 Fairview Avenue Cedar Grove, NJ 07009 Lucia Guarini, Director Please understand that this does NOT guarantee that any record can be found at this time. With all of this new stuff about medical record privacy I would expect that you might need some documentation to have them release any records that they might be able to locate. Several years ago in order to get a copy of my Father's death certificate I had to supply a statement that I was his sole surviving child, in addition to a copy of my birth certificate and my parent's marriage certificate.
