I am descended from Dr. ELIJAH GILLET and his wife JANE who were living in NEWARK as early as Dec. 1733 when he inventoried with JNO. COOPER the estate of Dr. MICHAEL POWELL. ELIJAH and JANE were members of the First Presbyterian Church of MORRISTOWN in 1742. Their daughter SARAH GILLET was born there 2 Apr. 1759. She married WILLIAM THROCKMORTON there 26 Dec. 1759. I am interested in IRA GARDNER b February 2, 1827 d March 26,1906 m SARA JANE SMITH b January 24, 1833 m May 17, 1854 d October 11, 1894 They lived in Union, and I think Ira was a shoemaker in Newark. I have the Gardners all the way back to Thomas Gardner b1752 d 1804, but I need to fill in the family of Sara Jane. Ira and Sara are my great grandparents.
