Please excuse the delay in posting. Joseph S Tuers was born in Lodi, NJ 10/23/1908, he married Lydia Campbell 10/10/1852 and died at the Soldier's Home in Kearney, NJ on 10/23/1908. He was a veteran on the Civil War. They had 5 children and in 1850 were living in Acquackanonk, NJ according to the census. My ggrandmother was Susan Tuers, who was born in Ridgefield, NJ according to her marriage certificate. She married Henry Spohn 8/12/1885 in Newark and all of the children were born in Montclair. She died 2/19/1896 and was buried in Mount Hebron Cemetery in the family plot which I now have responsibility for thanks to an inquiry that turned up a plot that was not being maintained. I am looking for any information, including a birth date for Susan, that may exist on the Tuers family in Montclair. I am also interested in the relationship of this family to the Tuers Park that exists in Upper Montclair at this time.
I am descended from Sarah Tuers who married Alfred Allen Knight 1855 in Rockaway, NJ She had a sister Catherine b. 1834. Their father is Abraham Tuesr b 1793 married Sarah Prior Vanderbilt. Do they fit into any of your records? Richard Mann wrote: > Please excuse the delay in posting.
