Here is what I have gathered on the Henry F. WOODRUFF, a brother-in-law of Thomas HANCOCK of Butler Co., OH and Decatur Co., Indiana who was my husband's ancestor. WOODRUFF, said to be s/o Ephraim D. WOODRUFF & Betsy DIGBY, was born ca 1815. Ephraim WOODRUFF was buried in the HANCOCK Burying Ground, probably Reily Twp., Butler Co., OH. His body may have been moved as others were, as this burying ground was said to have been near a creek or river. Its exact location is not known. ************************* 04 December 1845 Henry F. HANCOCK family. William was the s/o Thomas & Mary (AYERS) HANCOCK of Salt Creek Twp., Decatur Co., IN. Thomas was a brother of Mary Elizabeth (HANCOCK) WOODRUFF. Both named sons Sylvender/Sylvander. [Sylvender Hancock; Sylvender/Sylvander Woodruff] ********************* It is indicated that Mary Elizabeth (Hancock) Woodruff died sometime after the 1870 Census while living in Salt Creek Township, Decatur Co., Indiana, but this is not proven. ********************* As of 2007, nothing more has been found concerning Mary Elizabeth (Hancock) Woodruff. No other information has been found concerning the children of Henry F. Woodruff and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hancock. They seem to have disappeared from Decatur Co., Indiana.
