    3. I received this e-mail today and thought the opinion is the other side of Ancestry not giving service to LDS with all the free information they have received from LDS free. A few years ago a women was making copies of microfilm to bring back to her employer. Just one file draw after another. The five days I was in Salt Lake she was doing the coping all the time I was researching. Wonder if her employer was Ancestry? Justine McCormick ________________________________________________________ Greedy bunch... If Ancestry.com has indeed sold out to another group...don't they realize what they could gain by continuing to offer their services to LDS researchers and those doing research through LDS than by pulling out of their libraries? Can you imagine the amount of information going into Ancestry from LDS rather than vice versa? Maybe LDS is as mad at Ancestry as I am and just wants to drain what they can from them and NOT submit information. I mad the mistake of submitting part of XXXXX tree during one of their trial periods and I can't get in to make changes to a year of death now without joining Ancestry. According to the tec that I spoke with last month...even if I am a member, birth & death dates couldn't not be changed without deleting ALL information for that person so for ME to keep in mind that all birth & death information should be submitted with the "utmost care" (so they can copy it free, I guess) , I do try to keep that in the back of my mind. It' wouldn't be so bad if I only had m., b., & death info in for the person that I need to make the correction for but, if I also have scanned documents and photos as well - a lot of work to delete all of that and input it again...as if I would ever do that. Just want it off now. Good way to get people to join since NO ONE EVER NEEDS TO CHANGE birth & death dates :-) !!! Weird part is that I know that I put this particular date in correctly...even printed it out for my notebook & it's correct on that sheet. I have this one in my memory right down to the hour since it was XXXXX mom's. I like many things that Ancestry offers but, still think they are way too greedy. Good business is one thing but, greedy is a whole different ball game. ----- Original Message ----- From: "SHAWN DEMPSEY" <shawnpdempsey@msn.com> To: <njessex@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2007 2:31 PM Subject: [NJESSEX] Ancestry.com no longer Free at LDS > Just an FYI for everyone: > > This has been rumored in the community for a while and now sounds > official. > The local LDS libraries will no longer be able to offer FREE access to > Ancestry.com.
