I am particularly interested in finding the wife of Jacob H. Theberath, born September 1840 in Koblenz, Germany, and died February 22, 1907 in Newark. He was a jeweler. There appears to be some relationship with this family and the Dobra or Schaefer families who were also in Newark, with it being most likely the wife of Jacob. Charlotte Kaufman Charlotte, I cant tell you about your people but I've been a jeweller for over 30 years so if you have any questions about the business I'd be happy to help. How very nice of you! Thank You. I don't know very much about "the" business except this family and related families: Dobra and Freiensehner, all in Newark at the same time apparently got some training in Hanau, which according to family lore is a hub for jewellery making/training in Hesse. At any rate these three families were into jewellery in Newark, Texarkana, Texas (for a short stint before moving back to New Jersey) and in Attleboro, Massachusetts. There are some marriages among these families, but I haven't nailed down the link to the Theberaths, other than a picture in an old, old scrapbook which is inscribed "our cousin" Anything that you might add to my limited knowledge will be happily received. ck ----- Original Message ----- From: <Breakness@aol.com> To: <njessex@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 16, 2007 1:07 PM Subject: Re: [NJESSEX] [THEBERATH] -Newark 1840-1920 | | | In a message dated 5/14/2007 9:22:45 A.M.
