I have written the state vital records for the following birth certificates. They responded with their certificate that states there is no record of the birth in the years requested. Can anyone do a lookup for me or give me some clues on what else I can do? I assume there was some kind of mixup maybe the children weren't named until after the certificate was filed. THERESA GRUCHACZ parents MARYAN GRUCHACZ and BRONISLAWA KURKIEWICZ. According to her death certificate, she was born January 19, 1930. Her tombstone says 1931. Probably born in Bloomfield – for sure Essex County. The spelling of GRUCHACZ has been fairly consistent (I have seen one Gruchach) ALEXANDRA or APOLONIA or PAULINE KURKIEWICZ (I’ve seen all three first names on different documents) parents FRANK KURKIEWICZ and JULIA BLUDAJ. Baptism records say she was born October 18, 1904. Parents lived in Newark probably on Boyd Street. Both her parents were dead by 1918 and some church records indicate she may have been adopted. I don’t believe either of her parents learned English and they may have been illiterate. I’ve seen many spellings of KURKIEWICZ (Kurkisnicz and Kookinonh) but all that I have identified started with a "K" . Thanks for your help. Carolyn in Texas grucog@txdirect.net
