I am in possession of a (circa 1842?) handwritten will for James Lindsley of South Orange in Essex County NJ. It bequeaths shares of his estate to his brothers Isaac, Joseph, and Abraham, as well as to Jonathan and Elizabeth, children of his deceased brother Elbert Lindsley. It also mentions gifts to nephew Joseph Harris Lindsley and to a niece Nettie Lindsley, daughter of Harris B Lindsley. It mentions the "homestead place" of his father Jonathan Lindsley, his brother Harris B Lindsley of Pomona in Tennessee and his friend David S Smith of Clinton, Essex Co, NJ.
