My grandparents lived in Newark around the turn of the last century and my mother and her 2 sisters were born in Newark. Grandpa Gable (Franklin A) in 1900 lived with his parents (Peter A Gable - a blacksmith; Julia Elma Earles, and siblings). The address as best I can make it out in the census records in Bloomfield Rd. Grandpa Gable married a Margaret May Moore (parents Alexander and Sarah Ann Todd) in 1907 and was by this time a wagon maker. He moved to Detroit about 1914. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have any information about this family. I also have on specific question: Are the city wards of the 1895 State of New Jersey Census the same as the wards listed in the 1900 Federal Census? Or does anybody know where the answer to this question can be found? RE: Moore/Todd they apparently came from Jersey City and I am especially interested in getting more (pardon the pun) information on them. I would be willing to share the information on the Gable family that I have with any relatives. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me Kurt J.
