Dear List Readers: I noticed the following messages and wanted to say that I have a newly printed book entitled "Historical Collections of the State of New Jersey; ...relating to its History and Antiquities" by John W. Barber and Henry Howe. It was originally published in New York in 1846 and was re-printed in 1995 by Clearfield Company, 200 East Eager Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. Phone is (410) 625-9004. I don't know if the Clearfield Co. is on line or not. The book is a soft-cover or paperback copy and consists of 512 pages. I can't remember how much I paid for it. Furthermore, it is not indexed - to answer Sue Hathon's question. Judy Martin commjet@aol.com <> <<My Lindsley ancestors lived there in the 1800s and I am gradually learning more about them and this area. Clinton is now Irvington, NJ and part of Newark. The town (or at least parts of it) have been known as West Farms, Camptown, Clinton, then Irvington. In the 1870 census I found my Clinton ancestors listed in S. Orange, with a notation on the census page that the P.O. is Irvington. I don't have any knowledge of your book, but would like to ask if it is indexed? If so, would you mind checking to see if there is a mention of any "Lindsleys"? Sue Hathon (in southern CA)>>
