Hi Judy, Thank you for the book recommendations. Yes, when you have some time I would appreciate having the info on where to obtain the Munsell book. For the benefit of anyone researching ancestors from Clinton Twp, I'll mention an out of print book I recently obtained through an interlibrary loan: _Out of Our Past (A History of Irvington, NJ)_ by Alan A. Siegel, 1974. I found it to be a well-written, interesting account of this area, with many old photos of people and places. There are hundreds of names included in the index and appendices (no Breeses, though.) Like you, I noticed my Lindsley 3rd great grandparents gave their male offspring middle names that were the surnames of other families including Baldwin, Ogden, and Crane. Two, probably all three will turn out to be names connected to the family. Interestingly, Lindsley, Baldwin, Ogden, Crane and the surnames you mentioned - Pierson and Mills - are all surnames found in the the group of about 30 Puritan families who left the New Haven Colony in CT and became Newark's first settlers. My Lindsley ancestors were amongst this group. I haven't yet begun to research the Ogden line, but will keep an eye out for a "Breese" tie-in when I do. I haven't encountered Rev Robt Lindsley from Morristown, but a couple generations of the family lived there, so he's probably connected somehow. Thanks for writing!
