However, there are lots of mentions of the Lindsley/Lindsey name in the "1739 History of Morris County, NJ 1882" published my W.W. Munsell & Co. As with the Barber and Howe book, the copy I own is a newly printed copy. The Munsell book is a hard copy book and I bought by telephone order from a book store in Morristown. If you want the address and phone number, I will have to look it up for you at a later date. I am interested in your research because I have some interest in the Lindsley name, too. The brothers and sisters of my 3x great grandmother were given middle names that were the surnames of other families; i.e., Woods, Ogden, Mills, Pierson (2 times), and Lindsley. I am trying to learn why this would be the case. I am presuming that there would be a special relationship between the families and maybe discovering the connection would help me to learn the maiden name of my 5x great grandmother who is still a mystery woman to me. The family name I am descendant from is BREESE. I am fairly confident about my research on the Breese line, but the maiden name of Harriette Ogden Breese's mother is a puzzle. One of the siblings, Cynthia Breese m. John Bockoven in the New Vernon Presbyterian Church in Morris Co., NJ in 1834. The minister was Robert Lindsley. Perhaps there is a connection for us somewhere and you might hold the key, Judy Martin, Santa Maria, CA commjet@aol.com
