Can someone tell me what Church would have been called the Papakating Church, was near the Drowned Lands and 20 miles from the NY border? I have a letter wrote before 30 Oct 1857 by my GG Grandfather James Harden telling that his sister -in-law Hannah Rogers (Harden) had died and he had went back to NJ to see. Hannah had been sick for weeks and had gotten well and went to her sons place, Matthias Harden, in York state way down by the drowned lands (Near Ridgeberry, NY, Orange Co) there is where she died. They brought her up to pepercoton Church 20 miles. I now whars it is that on my old in my old native place whear I hav ben many a time to church. Any help appreciated. Connie Soresnes Csoren@aol.com
