I am looking for any information on my great grandfather, Francis McNicholas. The last name at times has been shown as McNichols. The 1909 Troy NY city directory shows that he moved to Newark, NJ. The 1900 Federal Census for Troy NY shows that he lived with his wife, Clara and 5 children, Emma, Mary, James, Anna and Sarah who was my grandmother. It also shows that they immigrated from England in 1885. He had worked most likely at the Rensselaer Iron Works as a puddler. I had never known my father to have any aunts or uncles and one time in asking this question, my father said that he had an Aunt Mary once in Newark but that was the only answer I ever got to my question. The only other information I have is that Francis McNicholas (from headstone) is buried in St. Raymonds cemetery in the Bronx but Clara isn't. I have no idea what happened to Clara regarding her burial. Thanking you in advance for any help. Elise
