Hi friends, My gggrandfather operated a cigar business on Broad St in Newark from 1837 until his death in 1906. The store was first located next to the old city hall (the old hotel) and then at 791 Broad St. While i was at Alexander library at Rutgers a few years ago, I came across a turn of the century photo of the southwest corner of Broad & Market. Just in from the corner you could make out (with the help of a magnifying glass, the sign "Brintzinghoffer". It ran perpendicular to the street, so you can imagine it hung over most of the sidewalk. Anyway, the photo was too small to copy and enlarge, and no source was given for the photo. I had no time to persue it. I also lost the title of the book I was reading. What I'm asking is if anyone should come across this photo or a similar one of the SOUTHWEST corner of Broad & Market taken around the 1895-1900, please let me know. Thanks.
