A few weeks ago I posted a question regarding eh Convalescent Hospital in Newark and that it was located in the Ivy Hill section. Does anyone out there know if this was a regular hospital or it was a special hospital for certain diseases, certain people had to qualify, etc. such as the veterans hospitals throughout the U.S. My gr gr aunt died there and rumor has it that she had 8 brothers, was single and no one in the family wanted to take help take care of her. Back in the late 1800s and early 1900s I found that this was very unusual especially since her mother was taken in by a son and his wife. Any info on the hospital would be appreciated. Judy
