    3. Hello ECRs I have a few different items to discuss so please read through. I am presently working on three different projects for the Virtual Newark Web Site. 1. The church information has been updated through 1900 with the exception of the alpha listing of Reverends. I am working on that now. 2. I have given the LDS FHC record index a separate page. You can get to it from the main page of the Essex County Genealogy Web Site. The links will bring you to separate pages with the microfilm numbers. I still have many more to post so please hold up on sending me anymore until I complete what I have. This will eliminate the doubles I'm receiving. When I'm done with what I have, I'll post a notice and ask you to check the index to see if you have any that I'm missing. 3. I still have many photos/images to post. Those are the three things that I am working on. I have a fourth project in mind which I will start when I'm done with those three. I'm also scanning maps of the German "States" for another web site. If anyone would like a scan of a particular "state" (kingdom, duchy, etc.) please email me and make sure that your ISP can handle a large .JPG file (some as big as 500kb). I have a few suggestions concerning the Digest Mode of the mailing list. Please read through the entire digest before you reply to any one message. This will cut down on redundant answers. On another list that I administer, someone put the wrong abbreviation for Alaska and the corrections went on for days. Also please remember to change the subject line from "Digest #........" to whatever the subject of the email is. The archives for this list can be found at: <http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl> Put NJESSEX-L in the box and press the submit button. As you already know, any type of warning letter is not permitted on this mailing list. I'm glad to see that the recent one has not been posted here. If there is something that you think is important please email it to me privately and I'll look it over. Please don't even bother me with a virus warning or tell me that Bill Gates is going to send 30,000 people to Disney Land if they test his new email system by forwarding an email. If it is relevant to Essex County Genealogy I'll post it in a generic form. I don't want someone falsely accusing someone else of anything wrong, as has happened in the recent warning letter fiasco. After saying that, I'd just like to say that please be aware of anyone who sends you a vague email requesting genealogical information. They should always have, at the very least, a surname that they are looking for in the body of the letter if not a full name and some information. You should be extremely suspicious of one that says "Hey, I think we're related, email me back". Well, that's enough for now. Remember, send any comments, suggestions, or criticisms to me via my personal email address. They are always welcome. Glenn G.
