    3. Hi Estelle, You first need to find the year of naturalization. If he were naturalized before 1920, the year could be found on the 1920 census. When you obtain your grandfather's petition for naturalization, you will find some pertinent information on your grandmother-such as the village in which she was born. Yes, it is true that she and any children would also become citizens at the time you grandfather was naturalized. It is also interesting that if an American woman married a non-citizen, she lost her citizenship. Good luck in your search.
