It's no wonder that it is so difficult to find information about our ancestors. I have a MILLER ancestor in PA that is listed as having been born in three different places on 3 different documents. I guess they usually put down where the place was at the time of the document, though the place may have relocated politically several times since the occurrence. Happy Familying Laura Irby in VA << Hello ECRs, It seems the question about Woodbridge being in Essex County has a little bit more to it than I previously knew. There is some conflict about dates and boundaries that would support the possibility of Woodbridge being in Essex County. Given these conflicts, Woodbridge may have been part of Essex County between the years 1675 - 1683. The conflicts hinge on whether Essex County was formed from the Province of East Jersey in 1675 or 1682. Some books say 1675 and others say 1682. The boundary conflict has to do with the border of Essex (Union) County being between Woodbridge and Rahway. Any other thoughts? Thanks, >>
