Stewart Hartshorn invented the spring mechanism that winds roller window shades back up. His business, then, was making/selling roller window shades. I am not familiar enough with Newark (although it is not far from here) to know where East Newark is, but I stongly suspect it was a part of Newark, since Stewart Hartshorn lived in/built our town. We have an early ad for the Hartshorn roller window shade company, if it is of interest.
