    2. Since Glenn (host for www.rootsweb.com/~njessex) mentioned the LDS FHC, I thought I'd add what I posted on my web site...... Even if you don't live near Salt Lake City, you can have access to its world- famous Family History Library through its Family History Centers. Each Family History Center has CD-ROMs, including the International Genealogical Index (IGI), Ancestral File (AF), the Social Security Death Index (SSDI), and much more. For a minimal cost, you can rent microfilms from the Library for use at a Center. •Find a Family History Center near you (http://www.lds.org/en/2_How_Do_I_Begin/4_Where_is.html) The Family History Library and its Family History Centers are sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). You do not have to be a church member to use their facilities. ---Robin www.rootsweb.com/~njunion P.S. www.lds.org has beginner tips, worksheets, and guides to their software programs. You'll also find select press releases, including the announcement of the Ellis Island FHC for year 2000, the ship passenger lists transcription program, and the new CD-ROM titles.
