Hi, I have an article about theaters in Newark, Ledger 1936, it states," In 1913, the Shubert brothers,... erected what is now known as the Shubert Theater, on Branford pl. The area was orginally a graveyard for the First Presbyterian Church on Broad st., and was afterward taken over for the establishment of a hook and latter fire-truck house..."
