David Sachs is listed as father on the birth record of Helen Sachs in 1904 as 23 years old and a clerk. Helen was born in Newark NJ at the home of her grandparents, George and Elizabeth Riker Lovelace. Their daughter Elizabeth or Bessie was 17 at Helen's birth and listed as a house keeper. Bessie had studied opera in NY and according to her daughter was best friends with dancer Gilda McCoy. We don't know if David was from NY or NJ - have not found ANY indication of him except for Helen's birth certificate. Bessie married Arthur Joseph Mitchel in 1907 - what happened to David?
