Just looked at my subject line and realized that I didn't mention East Orange once. Emmons Monroe Harrison and his family lived in East Orange from the time he got married in 1866 until he and his wife moved to Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania about 1898. I seek information re: family background and descendants of Joseph Hedden Sr. 1702-1798, who lived in South Orange. This is a vast family, and I want to zero in on a couple of things. 1. I would like info about his parents, Edward Hedden and Jane Jones, and their European origins. 2. I seek info about Joseph's second marriage to Abigail Huntington 1724-1760 and the children from that marriage. One of their daughters Elizabeth Hedden b. @ 1758 was my 4G grandmother. The two brothers of my g-g-g-grandfather emigrated to New York in 1829. They were Harry/Henry HUNTER, bn 1798, and Alfred HUNTER, bn 1804. Both were married and both became naturalised US citizens in the 1830s in New York. I have no trace of Henry/Harry (or his wife, Susan) after his NY naturalisation in 1839. Alfred moved to Irvington, New Jersey, with his family and, with the help of various individuals on this list, I have records until his death in 1887, although not his Will. I have traced his descendants through to a Harry HUNTER, bn 1915 in Orange Memorial Hospital, Orange, Essex Cty and his younger sister, Mary Elizabeth HUNTER, bn about 1927/8. And there the trail ends, although their mother, Florence, was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Newark in 1970, at which time her daughter Mary was still alive and unmarried. She might of course still be alive, aged about 79. I have tried calling from the UK as many Mary HUNTERS as I could identify, but no luck. Any up-to-date information would be greatly appreciated.
