Hi everyone. Still looking for the following ancestor ... Giovanni (John ) LUSARDI I believe my great grandfather Giovanni (John) LUSARDI was born in Spora, Parma, Emilia-Romagna, Italy circa 1864 (have yet to prove either). He married Clotilde ZAZZALI who was born in Spora, Parma, Emilia-Romagna, Italy in June 05, 1869 and died September 10, 1954 in Queens, New York. The marriage took place in New York City on June 13, 1889 (best man was Luigi MOGLIA - maid/matron of honor was Theresa FUGASSI). They settled at 15 Comes Alley in Bloomfield, NJ and had 1 known child (my grandfather) Domenico (Dominick) (Nick) LUSARDI. Family lore has it that Giovanni died from a fall off of a ladder carrying bricks up to a mason. Having been to the NJ state archives and other local/city buildings I found no record of his death. And he probably died sometime between 1889 and 1892 because Clotilde married Gerado BRUNI on December of 1892, moved to, and married in Manhatten, NY and had 10 more children. The parents of Clotilde were Antonio ZAZZALI and Bridgia BRUS! CHI. The majority of Clotildes 9 siblings lived in the NYC area. If you have any information on Giovanni (John) LUSARDI, anyone mentioned above, or you are a LUSARDI please e-mail me. Also please feel free to visit my website at Lusardifamily.com. It's a work in progress. George Lusardi Lusardifamily@bellsouth.net

Daniel Lauck (Laux) was born in Aull, Nassau in 1823, but had emigrated to the United States by 1850. He was married in November 1850 in the New York City Lutheran Church to Henriette Pickhardt, although they lived in Newark until he died in 1892. Children of Daniel and Henriette Lauck were Otillia, Arthur Otto, and Magdalena who married Robert Schaaf, also of Newark. Daniel Lauck was associated with Daniel Frielinghaus, Frederick Traudt, and R. T. Ricord,(Brewers), adopting a Frielinghaus child at the death of her parents. He was involved in Real Estate and Insurance and at one time ( 1865) was a Deputy Sheriff of Newark. He was a first cousin of Daniel Dobra, also included in this Newark list. Charlotte Kaufman

I'm looking for my LANTZ - LANCE people. In particular ANTHONY LANTZ or LANCE, maybe even LANTS lived in or near Walnut Valley circa 1750 - 1825. He and his wife MARY had two boys we know of but probably more. The known children are JOHN LANCE and JACOB LANCE. There is an ANTHONY LANCE born 1798 that we know little to nothing of so far but is likely a son of the ANTHONY LANTZ above. Any and all help much appreciated as I've chased these people for over 15 years. Time to move on to the letter 'L'. We got a good response with K. We had no I's and only 2 J's. Rootsweb was having some issues during the I's and J's so if you have an I or J surname that didn't post please feel free to repost. RULES: ======================================= 1. Your subject line: [NJESSEX] [L] SURNAME - city So if you are researching the surname LONGFELLOW in Newark your subject line should read [NJESSEX] [L] LONGFELLOW - Newark or if you have a timeframe it could also be [NJESSEX] [L] LONGFELLOW - Newark (1880-1900) 2. Maximum time devoted to a single letter with be 1 week 3. Minimum time will be 48-hours if there's not a lot of activity or response 4. Surnames should be all CAPS to stand out 5. If you have a long surname then keep the subject line short. Long subject lines will get cut-off by your email program. Reserve important details for the text in the body. 6. Body - be precise. List pertinent names, dates, events, questions in the body text. 7. Important: list dates/years if known. Your John Anderson born in 1900 will not be the same as someone elses John Anderson born in 1875. But without any dates noone will know. 8. When replying about any NAME asked for, reply to the LIST, not just to the sender. Members who may have ancillary connections, will get the benefit. And we'll make new friends as well! 9. Finally, close your email with your name and your email address. 10. HAVE FUN !!!!!! If you have any questions, PLEASE, don't hesitate to contact me. Have fun posting! I received this e-mail today and thought the opinion is the other side of Ancestry not giving service to LDS with all the free information they have received from LDS free. A few years ago a women was making copies of microfilm to bring back to her employer. Just one file draw after another. The five days I was in Salt Lake she was doing the coping all the time I was researching. Wonder if her employer was Ancestry? Justine McCormick ________________________________________________________ Greedy bunch... If Ancestry.com has indeed sold out to another group...don't they realize what they could gain by continuing to offer their services to LDS researchers and those doing research through LDS than by pulling out of their libraries? Can you imagine the amount of information going into Ancestry from LDS rather than vice versa? Maybe LDS is as mad at Ancestry as I am and just wants to drain what they can from them and NOT submit information. I mad the mistake of submitting part of XXXXX tree during one of their trial periods and I can't get in to make changes to a year of death now without joining Ancestry. According to the tec that I spoke with last month...even if I am a member, birth & death dates couldn't not be changed without deleting ALL information for that person so for ME to keep in mind that all birth & death information should be submitted with the "utmost care" (so they can copy it free, I guess) , I do try to keep that in the back of my mind. It' wouldn't be so bad if I only had m., b., & death info in for the person that I need to make the correction for but, if I also have scanned documents and photos as well - a lot of work to delete all of that and input it again...as if I would ever do that. Just want it off now. Good way to get people to join since NO ONE EVER NEEDS TO CHANGE birth & death dates :-) !!! Weird part is that I know that I put this particular date in correctly...even printed it out for my notebook & it's correct on that sheet. I have this one in my memory right down to the hour since it was XXXXX mom's. I like many things that Ancestry offers but, still think they are way too greedy. Good business is one thing but, greedy is a whole different ball game. ----- Original Message ----- From: "SHAWN DEMPSEY" <shawnpdempsey@msn.com> To: <njessex@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2007 2:31 PM Subject: [NJESSEX] Ancestry.com no longer Free at LDS > Just an FYI for everyone: > > This has been rumored in the community for a while and now sounds > official. > The local LDS libraries will no longer be able to offer FREE access to > Ancestry.com. Just an FYI for everyone: This has been rumored in the community for a while and now sounds official. The local LDS libraries will no longer be able to offer FREE access to Ancestry.com. The two parties could not come to an agreement. This may change as they are still attempting to work out some sort of arrangement. But just be aware that Ancestry.com is "now halting the practice of giving free access to Ancestry.com to all Family History Centers." My great uncle Herman Jehle and Claire Jehle lived in Newark. Herman had an auto place. My grandmother died at her sister, Claire's. Does anyone remember the Jehle's. The Kings and the Rutans were cousins living in Belleville and apparently some were close. The Meachem collection (Rutan Family) at the GSNJ located at the Alexander Library, Rutgers University, has correspondence where members of the King family are mentioned.
