Don't get your hopes up here, since I nothing about any individual you mention. I am, however, familiar with Essex and Morris County names and almost all these marriages are to early NJ settlers. The Bruens were among the founding settlers of Newark, arriving in 1666-7. The same is true of the Freemans (I have Freemans away back in my ancestry). These two families came from Connecticut and were very Puritan. Condit was not among the first Newark settlers, but was an early family. Tappans were a Morris County family, as were the Farrands, and the Squiers. A part of Livingston (in west Essex) was called Squiretown. I saw a lot of Crowley graves in Maplewood (essex). It looks to me as if some of the family was in the South Orange area (including Maplewood), and another part in the eastern part of Morris County. For NJ genelaogy, it is a little like marrying into a host of the founding families of the area. I hope some people get in contact with you. If you don't hear after a while, send me a note and I can find a Squire and Crowley person for you. If you have any Browns, let me know. I'm looking for any information on the family of Robert McNEELY who married Ellen/Ella/Nellie RUDDEN. Ella was born circa 1868 in Newark and was the sister of my grandmother. Buried in Holy Sepluchre Cemetery are James, Walter, and Ella McNeely. Family history says that Ella married Robert McNEELY. They had three sons- Robert, Charles, and Walter. At some time Ella left Robert and returned to Newark from where I don't know. I know that she, and her son Walter are two of those buried in CHS but don't know who James is. I would love to find more information on this twig of the family tree. Carol Parks Vineland, NJ
