Hi, I would like to know if I have discovered the correct information for Freidrich Waldmann that he died or was buried on 11Nov 1888. He owned/ managed a number of Theaters in Newark so I figure he would have had an obit printed in the paper... Would appreciate a lookup... I am in St Louis and do not have copies of papers here. Thanks, Dave Dhwaldmann@aol.com

I would like to know if there is someone on this list that would do a newspaper lookup for the wedding announcement of my parents. My parents were married at St. Peter's Church in Essex Fells on June 28, 1936. Their names were Robert G. Hobein and Wanda G. Dusenbury. At the time of their marriage their address were, Robert- 130 Edgemont Rd. Montclair and Wanda Forest Rd. Essex Fells. The Caldwell Progress might be the one to look at. Thank you, Elysa wally2@cdsnet.net
Hello to the list; Anyone having access to an 1880 or 1900 soundex for Essex County; could you look for an Anton MILLER (or MUELLER) in Newark. He was botrn 9 Jun 1849 in Germany. Cemetery plot lists him as Anthony Miller. He may have been using that name for the census. Wifes name was Henrietta (nee MEIER or MEYER), b. 12 Dec 1851 In 1880 he had four children; Jacob b. 30 Oct 1871 Magdalena b. 10 Apr 1873 George b. 10 Oct 1876 Margaret b. 3 Oct 1877 In 1900 he should have these additional children; John b. 4 Dec 1881 William b. 5 Dec 1883 Frances b. 6 Nov 1885 (or Franzeska) Louisa b. 11 Sep 1887 Henrietta b. 8 May 1889 I have never found him/them searching the full 1900 census and I would like a roll number if possible. I can get to the full census, but have no access to a soundex locally. Forgive me if there was no soundex for these years, I am only guessing. Thanks in advance for any information anyone can share. Hi, Has anyone on this list visited Woodland Cemetery on Newark/Irvington? Just wonder if it is safe? Also, does anyone know how you would get info on people buried there? Newark Star Ledger did an article on it back in January, just wondered if anyone had visited there in person. Regards, Anne
This probably doesn't help you too much, but according to the 1910 Newark Street Directory, 58 Alyea Street was at the corner of Alyea and Hensler. It was in the 12th Ward in 1910; don't know what ward in 1900, though. Hi, Does the Freedom of Information Act include adoption records that were sealed? A boy was adopted in the 1940s by a couple in NJ and the records were sealed. His siblings had been sent to different foster homes. They tried to locate him in the 60s and were told the records were sealed. They were told that if they were the natural parents they might have gotten some information, but as they were siblings they could get nothing. Has this changed? I know adoptions were discussed a while back but I was not aware of this family's history at that time. Thank you, Rita
Does anyone have batch numbers (LDS) for St Mary's RC church in Newark? I have only M595082, marriages, and would like to have births, confirmations, etc. I tried changing the M to C and got no results. Thanks! Judith Werner Hayward, California, USA
Hi, Wondering how I can find out what was at 58 Alyea St., Newark on 9/21/1900. My grandmother's first child died there and was wondering if it was perhaps a hospital or doctor's office perhaps? Also, does anyone know anything about St. Peter's Orphan Asylum, located at 21 Livingston St., Newark? Grandparents, Frederick and Theresia Saltzmann lived on Lafayette St., Newark. Her maiden name was Reindl. Would be most appreciative for any help. Regards, Anne
Would anyone on the list know where I may be able to find death records for someone who died in Newark in 1907 other than the Archives in Trenton. I have not been able to locate my GGrandmothers death record even though I know the date and where she is burried. I have been to Trenton twice and haven't found them. Her name is Jane MARTIN d. Dec. 17,1907 I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Marge MSEBOK@Worldnet.att.net
Hi ECRs, Looking for someone who may have a connection to Mary(Marie)Schandel. She was bron 1882, possibly in Germany. She died February 1915 from complications of childbirth. Her parents were Paul Schandel and Johanna Schwartz. I believe she had a brother Stephen and a sister Katherine. Trying to get information on her parents and to confirm her date of death. Reasonably sure it was in 1915. She married my grandfather John Treier in 7-11-1905. Hello ECRs, Some people have emailed back saying that the web page did not work properly.... the webpage address quoted in the email goes over two lines, so you will have to cut and paste both lines of the webpage address from the email into your browser location line for it to work. If this still doesn't work properly, go to http://www.familysearch.org/Search/searchcatalog.asp click on "All searches" then on the next web page click on "Film/Fiche search" then on the next webpage type in the film numbers 1306269 and 1728538. Good luck, Steve
