    1. Re: [NJESSEX] Naturalization papers
    2. That would seem to exclude a 1660 Oath of Fidelity in Elizabeth, NJ. Would anyone happen to know if there are records of such. 1. [NJESSEX] NARA
    2. Richard E. Hills, Sr.
    3. The WWI registration records are kept at the NARA in Georgia (Atlanta, I believe). In any case, I found a lady that regularly does searches down there for a fee. I gave her a few surnames and she soon returned my info+. Worked for me. I think she was very reasonable in her pricing as well. If you are interested in more info, let me know. I'll look up her email address. 1. [NJESSEX] WWI Draft Registrations
    2. Just a note on the WWI Draft Registration: If your ancestor was of age he was required to fill out a draft registration card. Even if he was not drafted, these cards are on microfilm at the National Archives. They are organized by state and county. I viewed these records at the NA branch in NYC and located draft cards for NJ & NY people. New England information is located in the Waltham, MA branch. For other parts of the country check with the closest NA. Also, the people I found were not located in the Ancestry.Com index for WWI registrations. This index is far from complete so don't count on it! Susan

    1. [NJESSEX] Re: NARA again
    2. Jeannine -- Do you know for sure your ancestor served in WW1? Not everyone who filled out a WW1 registration card was drafted...therefore, the NARA would not have any record of your ancestor. Send to the NJSA (New Jersey State Archives) for a copy of the registration form that he filled out. It will tell if he was drafted or rejected for some reason. Alice LaRue <>

    2. Hi all! A kind soul, Ruth, supplied me with the site I needed. Now the problem is this: I again located the ancestor I was looking for on the web site for the WW1 draft registration. 2. Hi All! I just received a letter back from the NARA saying the couldn't find Willie J. Johnson in the Washington County, FL records. But, I did see his name somewhere. Does anyone know of a list of names from the W.W.I draft registration? I can't remember where I saw it. I want to resubmit my request to them. Thanx in advance.
