Just to save some people time and energy, I am posting the following, from the below listed web site, Regarding their free registration. FREE MEMBERSHIP Benifits; Access to our 3 free newspapers, Lime Springs Herald, IA Mountain Democrat, CA Scottsbluff Star Herald, NE Now there is a monthly fee of $12.95* and a $79.95 charge for the yearly membership. Notice the catch here with the * on the $12.95 fee, the small print reads; * This plan represents an annual commitment with payments in monthly installments. I have to say I was really disappointed. I registered for the free membership and even considered paying the $12.95 for one month, untill I found out that you can not sign up for just a month. and the only NJ paper was the Trenton Times. So unless you are looking for information from the above three sources be prepared to pay 79.95 a year. Also once you register you are no longer to do just a search and get snipettes. After I registered I keep getting sent back to the log on page to register and I had cookies enabled. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Brandstetter" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 19, 2004 12:37 AM Subject: [NJESSEX] searchable newspaper pages > > There is a free Sigh up and a :pay to see: "" > http://www.newspaperarchive.com/DesktopDefault.aspx > What made the news in the 1700's? In looking through my WRIGHT notes I have found references to the following civil suits filed in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana: # 1014 SMITH & WRIGHT of New Jersey vs. Robert TROUSDALE filed May 19, 1831 # 1096 William WRIGHT, Hanford SMITH & Fitch SMITH, Merchants of Newark, N. J. d/b/a SMITH & WRIGHT vs. Robert TROUSDALE filed March 8, 1831 # 1409 SMITH & WRIGHT, Merchants of N. J. vs. William A. SEAY filed Sept. 19. 1833 #1606 Hanford SMITH & William WRIGHT, Merchants of Newark, N. J. d/b/a SMITH & WRIGHT vs. Richard HUNGERFORD & Henry DWIGHT & John HARTMAN, the latter merchants d/b/a DWIGHT & HARTMAN filed July 5, 1834 This is as they are listed in the index. Anyone know who the William WRIGHT is? St. Mary Parish was agricultural at that time, growing cotton and/or sugar cane Nancy L. Wright

Does anyone have access to Ancestry.com's US Immigration Collection? Could SKS do a lookup for me? I have been unable to find my great-grandfather's passenger list. His name was Michael C. DAY, he came from Ireland in 1882, possibly from County Kerry. His parents were Patrick DAY and Mary O'DEA. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Karen L. Day

Hello - I've tried to look at Old Newark today. Is it down? Dru Beesley
HELLO EVERYONE, I have the deed for my grandmother selling her house in Newark in 1964 and on the bottom of the last page are stamps which I think denote the selling price. Can anyone confirm that? And if so would a #10 stamp be $10,000.00 a #5 be $5,000.00 and so forth. thanks Kevin j olvaney
If someone has access to these directories I would appreciate locating a Jacob Sachs, age about 20-27. Thanks. Judy in NC
My gr grandmother's sister named Theresia Sachs went to become a nun somewhere in Newark or the surrounding area and eventually could have been stationed in Minnesota. Does anyone know what orders of nuns in NJ about 1880 would have had their headquarters or motherhouse in Minnesota? Judy in NC
Hi I am searching for info on a Jane PURDUE Coyne, first wife of James Coyne. They were married in 1850 by a Rev James Williams, she died in 1853 aboard a ship (name unknown) and was scalded to death with others (according to an affidavit written by 2 brothers of James' second wife Martha SNOW Coyne) and buried at sea. One of the brothers stated that there was no death cert to be had because of the way she died and was buried at sea. Does anyone know if that is true? Wouldn't there still be a death cert or a notice of some sort? Thanks Patti
