The birthplace of one of my ancestors is cited as Cedarville, NJ, Fairfield Township. But someone else just gave me data that cites Down Township, Cumberland County as his birthplace. Are these close? And was Cedarville originally part of Salem County? >> Jan: I think Cedarville (proper) is now in Lawrence Twp. Not sure when Lawrence was formed. However, the areas surrounding Cedarville overlap into Fairfield and Downe Twps. Cumb Co was set off from Salem Co in the 1750s. Hope this helps. PAT (researching Bennetts in 1700s Fairfield Twp)
