For those who have tried to answer my post, here is a clarification and additional info.. Trenton has not been able to locate a death certificate based on the Jan. 1, 1892 date I gave them (this is the date on the tombstone). My great grandmother's name is Sara PICKHOLTZ. Alliance cemetery, Pittsgrove, Salem county, no longer has records that go back that far. Pittsgrove Twn. is missing all kinds of records including death, from 1885 to 1900. The county governments will only help if I know what town she died in. I don't know what town she lived in let along what town she died in. I have been told to check with local undertakers, remember this took place in 1892, so where do you look? Tombstone makers, same as above. Contact all the near by towns. What towns? Near by to what, the cemetery or the town of now Pittsgrove? Some towns are gone, other changed names, some even changed counties. Where do you start? Because of the above, I was trying to use the Scarlet Fever out break as a possible source to find at least the place of death. Help please, someone. Thanks, Steve Pickholtz
