I think everyone should help Mr. Millard. If you know of someone who does not have a tombstone, you could notify him of this. Then follow up with a document showing this, such as a death certificate. Someone is doing this, Mr. Millard is. He is very knowledgeable and very precise. He has spent at least a year and a half doing this. I think everyone should be grateful to him, not critical. He has given a lot of time to this and also helped Saturday when they tried to repair the damage done by vandals. Genealogy has been a passion of his for many years. It really doesn't matter if the records are kept in an attic or a basement. The important thing is that they are safe and not in danger of getting wet etc. Mr. Reeves may have a wonderful basement. The books are in good shape. **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. (http://money.aol.com/special/hot-products-2007?NCID=aoltop00030000000001)
Sandie ... I didnt see where anyone was being critical about anything. Just stating that it would be good to have all the records copied and kept in a separate place just in case anything should ever happen. Basements do tend to flood now and then, so the concern was genuine for the records not an attack on what any one person is doing out of the goodness of their hearts. I do appreciate everything that is being done. I have ancestors there, but am not in a place that I can be there to help with any of it. So far I have only read positive comments by posters.
