    1. [NJCUMBER] Scarlet Fever--- 1891-1892
    2. Does anyone know if there are records (names) of the people who died of Scarlet Fever in late 1891 through early 1892? This happened in South Jersey. I am looking at the counties of Salem and Cumberland. My great grandmother died during this time period and this may have been the cause. I do not know where she died and therefore the local governments have not been willing to help me. All I know is she is buried in Pittsgrove, Salem county. Pittsgrove Township has not been able to help and Salem and Cumberland Counties need a town before they will try to help. Also, the cemetery where she is buried, no longer has records from that far back. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve Pickholtz

    3. Steven - It's a lengthy process, but, can pay off, contact all the towns in and around Pittsgrove. Call or write their vital office to search for you. Also, try the cemetery again, while they might not have c.o.d., they may have a month and year of burial, most do. This would narrow the search when you call the towns. It took me a couple of months, and not until after my grandfather passed in the same conv. home, that his grandmother, who he swore died in Bridgeton, actually was in Deerfield township at the time of death, therefore, her death cert. was in Deerfield township, not Bridgeton, lol.
