    1. Re: [NJGLOUCE] Re: Jonas Vanaman/Vanimen/Vannaman 1754 - 1833
    2. Thank you for looking. Probably most of those VANAMANs and various spellings are all connected to the immigrant Jan Garretson Van Jumme who came from the Netherlands and died in 1707 in Gloucester Co. Many of the descendants migrated to Cumberland Co. Through the generations the surname has changed to a variety of spellings. It doesn't list Jonas but there are a zillion references to others with Vanaman names and it's varitions... (Venneamen, Von Neeman, Van Neeman, Van Neuman, Vanneeman, Venneamen, Von Eman, Von Iman, Von Jman, Von Nehman, Von Neiman, Von Numan, Voniman, Vaneman, etc). ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 13, 2005 6:21 AM Subject: Jonas Vanaman/Vanimen/Vannaman 1754 - 1833 > > > Jonas Vaniman listed as a member of the Continental Army > (p. 52 of the History of Gloucester, Salem & Cumberland Counties by Cushing > & Sheppard) > > > Hi listers, > Does anyone have access to Cushing's book that could do a look up for me? > I'm trying to find any other reference to my ancestor Jonas Vanaman (often > spelled differently) 1754- 1833 of Maurice River Twp, Cumberland Co, NJ.
