Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: With the absence of actual census records for early New Jersey, it is very difficult to trace many families. My SPRINGER cousins and I are in this situation. Through DNA testing we have found some lines we ARE connected to, and some we are not. From this testing, even though it is very minimal to date, I feel we descend from or are closely related to Dennis SPRINGER (Dennis1) and Mary HUDSON who were in CT in the 1600s. Please note that I have no proof at all that my line is related to Dennis1 other than a few given names in common. My father's SPRINGERs were in southern New Jersey. One to two generations further back from our oldest known ancestor (Samuel Robinson SPRINGER b.1789), there are several SPRINGER families in the right counties, namely: Burlington, Cumberland, Gloucestor and Cape May. This would be mainly from the 1700s and early 1800s. I am asking for help now. Please email me if you have SPRINGER folk in your database. Maybe you don't know anything about them but who they married, we might be able to put together a better picture of this extended family/ies. Please don't send me your whole lines, :), but if you DO know what line your SPRINGER is from, please note it. I am sure I'm not the best person to be doing this but maybe as a 'joint project' of sorts, some knowledge can be gained. Some families/groups have started up on yahoo or msn, or other websites. I could put up pages on rootsweb. I might even be able to start a message board on rootsweb. I'm open to suggestions as to the best way to handle this. LOL, if no one else is interested, I'll still start something myself and it could be really awful. thnx, melissa springer robards ============================== New! Family Tree Maker 2005.
