I show Matthias Steelman HESS of Maurice River Twp.(son of Jonathan) m. Sarah Jane SCUDDER (daughter of David SCUDDER and Martha Corson Gandy) abt. 1857 in Tuckahoe, NJ. I also descend from Eli BUDD and Ann Carman. Eli founded Cumberland Furnace in 1785 and then in 1810 his son Wesley BUDD developed a blast furnace and forge at the site.
