Son of ALEXANDER HENRY and JANE HENRY (formerly SIMPSON) Brother to MARGARET HENRY. Brother to ELIZA JANE HENRY (who married JOHN MC CLEERYand had a daughter Saran Ann who died in 1868/69.) He was married in Glasgow in 1858 to HELEN WATSON Daughter of JOHN WATSON (or WASSON) and HELEN (formerly MC CULLOCH) sister to HENRY WATSON married to NANCY who may have gone to India. They had a son called JOHN HENRY born 20th March 1862 and two other children that had died by 1869 and were buried St Georges Church Hulme. ALEX HENRY went to America between the years 1865 and 1867 to make his fortune.He had his own business for a while, little was heard from him, though I have letters to his wife Helen or Ellen as he called her who then lived with his mother in Salford England. I'm sure he was living or knew family (either Simpson's or Henry's) who were living in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1869. The letters stopped coming and nothing more was heard from him again.
