John, Have you read Charles Sheppard's handwritten manuscript called the Sheppard Papers? (is that the official name? anyone?) It details family trees and such in the cumberland/salem/gloucester area. At the Lummis Library they have it on fiche (bad fiche printer..) and they have the original (?) or at least a hard copy at Vineland (I'm told) and a fiche too probably. I saw the one at Lummis and it's indexed by family for the tree and then there's a "notebook" section where he writes things about the people and then there are #'s and they reference each other (ie see entry #125). I'm descended from Sarah Fithian, daughter of Jonathan Fithian and Sarah Moore. Sarah married Thomas Bateman (1699-1759). I found the Charles Shepard manuscript invaluable. Perhaps it can help you. Has my 7th great grandmother Sarah Fithian come up in your research? -andrea On 7/18/05, [email protected] <[email protected]> wrote: > Greetings All, > > My name is John Fea and I teach American history at Messiah College in > Grantham, PA (near Harrisburg).
