Sorry, my email got sent before I finished what I was writing about abbreviations in the Sheppard collection. Here are some of the definitions I have figured out. I know Sheppard referred to his own volumes, and also to local records such as vital records or wills. do., do 517 = ditto, p. 517 [in other words, that reference is in the same volume as the previously mentioned one] K, 127 = volume K of Sheppard's own volumes. He created volumes of information copied from cemeteries, church records, etc. and then created file folders by surname based on his own volumes. M.H., XV, 516 = M.H. is My History. Sheppard's collection is called M.H. & G. (My History and Genealogy). XV= volume XV of his many volumes. 516 = the page number in vol. XV. db = I am not sure what db stands for Keb. or Heb. = don't know. Mary A. MOORE, b July 10, 1825 (M.K.SV,525) Maybe M.K. is M.H. SV is probably Salem Vital. He often quotes Mrs. Mary Clayton, as Mrs. M. C. and and he quotes R. B. Potter, both of whom copied cemetery records, along with Sheppard. Mary E. V. Hill
